This is an exciting one-of-a-kind JL ring designed and created around this stunning 20 carat aquamarine gemstone.  Jill found this Stone at the enormous 2023 Tucson Gem Show.  It's hard to imagine the literal acreage of warehouses all over the city of Tucson and enormous tents, filled with booths and booths of gemstones.  This gem was a  precious find that would be easy to miss.  But she didn't miss it!  Here it is, brought to you!  Images above feature the finished ring along with all the stages of created it.

Fun Facts:  The name aquamarine is derived from two Latin words:  aqua meaning "water" and marine meaning "the sea".  This may be why we think of a perfect, refreshing plunge into the azure sea or a delightful pool on a hot, sunny day.   Like emerald, aquamarine is a color variety of the beryl mineral.  It has been said that it makes the wearer unconquerable, amiable, and improves intellect.  Folklore says that it calms waves and keeps sailors safe at sea.  It even has been credited with increasing happiness in marriage!  The clarity of the stone symbolizes purity of spirit and soul.  It's origin is in mines in Pakistan's Karakoram Mountains.  It's hardness on the Moh's scale is 7.5 to 8.  
Aquamarine is the March birthstone and the gem for the 19th wedding anniversary.
